If you are like me then staying at home on a rainy day in Munich can be torture. We don’t even have a garden or balcony where I could throw them out for fun in the rain. So either we are all outside getting wet which is ok or everyone is board inside including me. I like being out and about with the kids. It makes the afternoon fly by and we are usually rushing to get in bed on time.

Inside Pool

Munich has many wonderful indoor pools to pick from here is a link to the “hallenbad” in Munich. Our favorites near us are Forstenrieder Bad, SudBad, and Westbad.

My kids beg to go to inside playgrounds on most rainy days and even some sunny days. They just have so much fun.

Wichtel Werk – This is our favorite indoor playground. We are located on the west side of Munich making this one very convenient. It is fun for everyone from the little guys to preteens. The latest addition of a giant crocodile that swallows up the kids was a huge hit with my kids. Careful though they have very limited hours during the Summer 2019 school holidays. https://wichtel-werk.de/

Rauberhall – This indoor playground is right in the center of town. So it is great for people traveling with kids to Munich. It has lots to do but unfortunately a lot of the activities they have there cost extra and of course that is all my kids want to do.  Still a great indoor alternative while you are traveling in Munich with kids.

Hunting and fishing Museum – This museum is also located right in the heart of Munich and you would not think to go to the hunting and fishing museum with a kid but it really has a great interactive area.  You can learn all about the local fish and wildlife through fun hands on activities.

Verkehrszentrum – Transportation Museum – This is a sister museum to the Deutsches Museum that focuses on transportation. You can see lots of cars, trains, u-bahns, trams, and buses. The highlight at the end of smaller museum is a kids play area with a giant slide, megablocks, coloring area, and other fun activities.
